YAY!


I'm very pleased that Barak Obama won the Iowa caucuses tonight. I would have been just as happy with Edwards, but this pleases me very much.

I'm glad Obama won too. I think he's a good man with a good head on his shoulders and I'm pretty sure the Republicans won't win. UNLESS Hillary gets the nomination. Not being sexist, but I honestly don't think middle America is ready to vote a woman for President.

Going back to the last post. I've never voted anything other than Republican and I've told you why. That does NOT mean I drink the Koolaid, however. I've been very dissapointed in Bush and almost everything he's done. Terrorism has been the crutch behind every bad decision he's made, and I think he's had some scary people advising him, starting with Uncle Dick.

I joke a lot, but in all seriousness you really make me think about this stuff more than I usually would. And while I'm still of the belief MOST politicians could care less about us regular folks, I'm really trying to pay attention to all the candidates. Right now, I'm leaning toward Obama and Edwards on Team Donkey and McCain on Team Dumbo.

Peace, Becks. And I'm with you. I think this country would be a better place if all of us could just discuss.

i grow tired of listening to politicians memorize their advisors speeches...

Ted, did you REALLY mean to say this...? I'm going to give you an opportunity to 'splain this because it honestly sounds a bit like you flying to Boston before flying with Angie. :)

Becks, it came out wrong, which for me is par for the course, as you can tell.

What I was trying to say was I don't think people are advanced enough in their thinking outside of large cities where education, openess, etc.. are ready to vote for a woman for President. Does that make sense that way? I'm really not trying to be a sexist pig.

Honest.

Becks, do you see how everytime I try to get out of something I only dig a deeper hole? It's wonder Ang is still with me.

I'm not going to try and explain other than it came out ALL wrong what I tried to say. I WON'T vote for her, but it's not because she's a woman. However, I think a lot of people (men) won't vote for her BECAUSE she's a woman. Make sense?

OK, gotcha. I trusted that you had something more specific in mind, which is why I didn't come down on you like a ton of bricks.

I think you are right - there are a lot of people who won't vote for Hillary because of her gender. This strikes me as very odd when you consider that countries like Pakistan, India, Israel and Great Britain have all had women leaders and seem to have survived just fine (although Pakistan is in deep doo-doo right now).

I personally won't vote for her because of her last name. I don't belive that we should have political family "dynasties". I'd like to believe that another women can and will be president in my lifetime. For me, it's time to look to the future and I hope Obama can take us there successfully.
